Johnny's Beach Hideaway

From when we arrived we thought the house looked nice, but when we looked through the rooms we noticed the carpets were dirty and not only that there was a lot of hair from previous people who had pets and left trash behind, meaning they hadn't vacuumed in a long time. All of the dishes were very dirty with stains, so we had to wash them ourselves. We saw cockroaches throughout the house, the Wifi wasn't working. We attempted to communicate with the owners but they they never responded. In the morning my daughter woke up with bug bites and ants on her and in the sheets, we had to wash all of the sheets. There appeared to be bed bugs or some sort of fleas that everyone in my group got stung by. When we used the outside grill rats started to come out. The televisions didn't work and the remote controls for the TV's didn't work. Those were the biggest issues with the house amongst all the other issues but I will not be returning with that company again again.

Great experience. The house was as described. Alan was awesome to help me find 2 houses together. Looking forward to returning.

The house was ok.. definitely needs some updates. We did have issues w/ the central air-it was getting up to 87 degrees at night-had a few little ants in the bathroom-pest control did come spray! The location was good-my kids didn’t have to walk far to the beach! Overall wasn’t bad

Overall this was a great location and family friendly rental. We enjoyed being able to walk less than 5 minutes to the beach. We had a heating issue with the pool, but resolved it on our own, even though the manager was willing to send maintenance out to fix it. If you're looking for close beach access, this is definitely the place you're looking for. Note that there are no "extras" (items for the beach for kids, items for the pool unless it has been left by a previous renter, spices/cooking staples). If I had any questions, the manager was quickly responsive. Overall, we're very happy with our stay and would consider this option again.

We loved the place, this is our second time coming back to the house. House has alot of room for our family, loved the pool. Close walking to the beach and bars/restaurants. When we arrived the owner checked with us and asked if everything was what we wanted.

Wonderful experience and awesome rental house!

We spent almost 2 weeks with our 4 grandkids and 5 adults. There was plenty of room, the house was spotless and the heated pool was much appreciated. We love this location- there are playgrounds, ice cream stands and a short walk to the beach. Can’t wait to go back!

We were escaping the snow for a few days and this was the perfect spot. Location was excellent! Everything was clean, comfortable and the pool and surrounding landscaping were absolutely gorgeous. Very short walk to the beach. Everything was convenient and above our expectations! Would absolutely stay at Johnny's Beach Hideaway again! Highly recommend*****

My 2 daughter’s and my young grandchildren and I enjoyed a month’s stay in this lovely home. It is a great choice for little kids. The house is cute, the location is fabulous, and the managers could not have been more helpful. We had a few minor issues that were cleared up in hours! We appreciated that there is a separate entrance to the pool (which is safer for toddlers). The beach, playgrounds and nature preserve provided plenty to do. We hope to come back. The only reason I gave the house 4 rather than 5 points is the condition of the couches. It’s great for kids, but a newer couch would be nice.

We had a very comfortable stay at the house and the kids had a great time at the beach which is walkable distance from the house.We had one small issue with the HVAC not but Alan responded immediately and sent someone to fix it. Would definitely stay at the same place next time we visit Tampa :-)

We stayed in this home for Labor Day weekend. We loved the Retro decorations as it made us feel at home. This house is a nice size house with lots of room. The master bedroom bed is one of the most comfortable beds I've ever slept in! We loved the pool and all the toys that are in the shed for the kids to play with. The house was only a very short walk to the beach. We found this house to be clean and had lots of little extras in the pantry and in the bathroom for us to use. We also loved all the board games that are available at the house for the kids. You have to go out the side door and out of the house and around through a fenced gate to get to the pool. That could be a plus for people with children as they can't just open the back door and walk out to the pool. Overall this was definitely a nice place to stay for the holiday.

The vacation rental was clean. Short walk to the beach. It was decorated very cute. The pool area does need a new umbrella for the table no other issue other than that. I would highly recommend this rental.

We loved loved the retro style the house had. It was very clean and well stocked. The house was very roomy and the pool was awesome and it was a short walk to the beach, where I hung out a lot. Beach towels and chairs were providied.
My only negative comment in on the pots and pans, some were rusty looking, some were so old and pitted and stained , I didnt use them. I would definitely come back .

Beautiful house, close to the beach and stores. Spacious rooms, good size of pool and backyard, 5 minutes away from Clearwater. Thinking to return this summer

Property was very well maintained and Alan was very easy to work with. Would definitely rent again as the whole experience was very positive. Kids loved the heated pool!
